Use of "wom"

Note, note, note: clicking here takes you halfway. Please see below where to email in your name. Thanks!

If you’re even mildly intrigued by the word wom, yet you’re nowhere near putting it to use, I have a request. Through this "registry" I invite you to note your openness to the word wom. As you can see, the registry asks only for bare bones data -- your name, the town, state or province in which you reside, and country, if you will -- simply to show where we're coming from and to keep the tallying at one per person. Adding your name merely indicates your openness to the word wom. I recognize you may have been taught an aversion to bandwagoning. Youtube alone has shown us the sheer fun of chiming in though. Perhaps wom will feel more comfortable once the registry logs 1,000,000.

I'll certainly let you know as soon as wom gets that millionth nod. With one million people open to the word, we can consider wom part of the English language, don’t you think? And as a part of the English language, it’s only a short leap to common use, right? (What? say you. Another of me carts-before-the-horse?) If the idea of wom in widespread use is too great a stretch, how about trying out wom in your e-mail, for starters. E-mails, texting, online chats opened up more relaxed communication ducts. Folks regularly abbreviate in cybertext, so this allowing online has already primed us for getting used to the shorter word wom.
...
I hope for dialogue. And mutual acceptance, though acceptance certainly isn't necessary for me to continue enjoying the word wom. (excerpted from Beyond the roar ... wom, ©2002 & 2010 , E. Sandy Powell)

Here's how indicating your openness works, from author E. Sandy Powell © 2010, E. Sandy Powell:
